Our Mother of Embodied Love emerged as part of a Black Madonna Intentional Creativity exploration. Shiloh Sophia and cultural historian Dr. Kayleen Asbo led the online pilgrimage, which included learning about the history of the Black Madonna and going on an inward journey to connect with the image that wanted to be expressed through each participant's canvas (over 150 women from many countries participated).  
 
The qualities of unconditional love, compassion, strength and embodied presence guided my brush.  She originally had a blue robe but then it was as if her arms flung open to reveal the roses at her heart and healing energy lighting up her body.  I painted mountains to symbolize a strong connection to the earth.
