Prayers for Mother Earth

Her MessageShe heard the call
and dropped to her knees. Her work began with a prayer. From MargoI love images of outer space and find myself placing moons, stars, and planets in almost every painting. Whether they’re seen in the final image or covered up with layers of paint, the energy is there. This painting started out as deep space and stayed that way for weeks. But then one night, very late, I felt inspired to paint the outline of a figure. From the very beginning she was clearly not human and was kneeling in prayer. Her hands were raised in an offering of love. Then I realized she was in service to Earth. I could feel her love and respect for our planet, and the thought that she was praying for us and our future resonated deeply. When I look at her, I’m comforted by the very real possibility that with hundreds of billions of galaxies in the known Universe, there are beings praying for our health and wholeness, and assisting us through love.
